LEADERSHIP   CHARACTER      SERVICE BEFORE SELF

 A MESSAGE FROM MATT....

       Coach or Athletic Director,

I personally am asking for your support.  I believe that there is good reason for every school and especially every high school football program to participate in Rush For A Cause.  Serious injuries happen and we can’t predict when or who will fall victim of a tragic, severe and life-changing accident.  However, we can be prepared for these accidents.  We can do that collectively and in a way that provides financial support to a student-athlete and his/her family when their world is turned upside down.  When a tragedy happens, let’s remind ourselves that it affects us all.  I was affected and I took action.  I hope that you feel inspired and compelled to do so, too and I’m offering you an opportunity to be part of a wonderful cause that requires very little of your time but has the potential to make a big difference. We can make a difference, together.

There are other benefits to participating.  Personally, Rush For A Cause has changed me.  It is more obvious to me now, than ever before, the importance of service before self.  It is easy for anyone, especially teenagers, to be so busy and involved in his or her own lives that it’s easy to forget that the world doesn’t revolve around them.  Rush For A Cause is a good reminder and possibly the next level of philanthropy for young people.  It provides an opportunity to educate and/or enhance teamwork, leadership, service, character, responsibility and compassion for others.

commitmentHow can you help? Adopt Rush For A Cause as part of your football program. Commit to participating and I am confident that you will find that your players and their families, students, school administration and your community will be proud to be part of such a worthy cause.  Those that participated last year feel that way.

What’s involved?

-       The Running Back or Quarterback will represent your football program and secure pledges and/or donations for his rushing yards for the season, collect at the close of the season and turn in donation

-       Raising Awareness:  the Foundation will work closely with the parents of the player(s) and the team “football moms” and are provided with a “starter package” consisting of everything they will need to successfully fundraise throughout the season (i.e. pledge form, flyers, successful fundraising options, wristbands, banner, game announcement template, etc.)

     -       Support and encouragement from YOU.  Incorporate Rush For A Cause in your team meetings.

SUPPORT  Rush For A Cause had received extraordinary media and community support in 2010 and has magnified during the off-season.  We are in discussions with large organizations regarding title and official sponsorships and have had communication with the OHSAA who are impressed and supportive of Rush For A Cause.  I am pleased to share that my goal of taking Rush For A Cause national appears to be within reach in 2011.  I am hoping to gain the support of the majority of the high schools in Ohio and that begins one school at a time….starting with You. Please sign up today.

Respectfully,

Matt
